Markie got her start in the funeral industry through a little bit of luck—meeting Carol Poole and having the opportunity to learn from someone with years of knowledge and experience. What started as a job became a career, and over the years, Markie learned the ins and outs of the industry, built relationships with funeral home owners and directors, and eventually took over the sales operations.
 

Today, she continues to value and maintain those relationships while bringing her own approach to the business: keep things simple, move quickly, and never lose the personal connection.
 

After years of working closely with funeral homes, Markie understands that your time matters. When you call Family First, you’re not getting a call center or a sales representative who has to look up your account before they can help you.

And while Markie may be the face of the company, she certainly couldn’t do it alone. Behind Family First are her husband, David, and her mother, Lisa, who help make the day-to-day possible, along with the motivation and support of her four children.
